For the second year in a row, I participated in the pen pal writing program devised by the Idaho Writer in Residence and the Idaho Commission on the Arts. With the assistance of periodic writing prompts sent via postcard, participants are matched with a fellow writer to correspond with by mail or e-mail. The end result of the creative writing correspondence is publication of your favorite creative piece, born from one of the prompts, in a printed zine. I received my zine today and was excited to see that the poem I submitted appeared on the first page! Below are photos of the zine cover, my poem, and the prompt my poem was inspired by.
If you are interested in participating in the next free Idapost pen pal writing program (2022/2023), be sure to follow along on the Idaho Commission on the Arts page for updates.
